Car Accident

Last week Billy went down to Southern California to pick up his dad and help him move up here. He took along our two oldest. His cousin Dawn and her two girls were coming up with them as well (oh my heck, they are sooo cute, can I keep them?). They packed one van with kids and one van with stuff (and dogs, also oh my heck, but I don't want them) and away they went. About half-way through they switched drivers, Dawn driving the stuff-van, with Billy as passenger, and my Father-in-Law driving the kid-van, it had a few dogs in it too. There are never too many dogs and kids. After a little bit of driving (and remember I'm getting this second hand, the story may seem a bit different to those involved) a tire in the stuff-van blew, causing the van to start to go off the side of the road. The van started to fishtail, and another tire blew at which time it started to flip over. Dawn was thrown from the vehicle. It ultimately rolled three times, leaving Billy hanging upside down. He had to be cut out. Dawn had to be airlifted to the nearest trauma center, 150 miles away! Luckily she seems to be doing fine, with a concussion and a lot of back pain, which we are hoping isn't anything lasting or turns into anything major. Billy is just very upset about his nine bruises and one scratch. He says his Guardian Angel should have done a better job, and he should have walked away without the scratch. I'm just grateful he didn't get to meet the Guardian Angel face to face. One of the dogs didn't make it through the accident, and another ran off and was never recovered. We're hoping that he finds someone nice with lots of love that takes him in.

Here's the after pictures of the car.

That is scary! I'm so glad it wasn't the kid-van though!
